These images all share features of the style I wish to use for my magazine. They appear colourful due to the heavy makeup worn by the artists and contrast between the background and the model. They consist of simple but yet very unusual poses most of which show a lot of emotion and by some using direct mode of address they connect with the audience. Others appear suttle and secretive and make you question what the image represents and the emotion that the model shares. Either of these techniques make the audience connect with what thye are seeing making them very effective. I want to combine these features to capture colourful and unusual styles of images but making sure they still have the ability for the audience to connect and understand how the image relates to the text they are reading. Similarily I want my images to appear with a unique edgy style, something different and unexpected. By combining the effects and conventions used in these images I think I will be able to do this.Wednesday, 7 November 2012
