These are all the shots I took when focusing on images which are suitable for my contents page. The images include extreme long shots, long shots, mediums shots, medium long shots, close ups, and low and high angle shots. I took the images in front of a white screen and green screen which has various news/magazines stuck on to set the seen. I also used a fan on some shots to get a wind effect on the model.
Below is a video that was taken whilst the images were being shot.

Makeup ideas for front cover model - Dark, exaggerated eyes and red lipstick for a dramatic look is what I aim for my model to be like. The second to last image is of an egsisting image that has inspired me to dress my model for the front cover in a white top with a dark background and again it shows the dar red makeup i plan to use. I also plan to put tin cans in my models hair for the main image shoot as seen here in the last image, where i got my inspiration for this idea from.

These images all share features of the style I wish to use for my magazine. They appear colourful due to the heavy makeup worn by the artists and contrast between the background and the model. They consist of simple but yet very unusual poses most of which show a lot of emotion and by some using direct mode of address they connect with the audience. Others appear suttle and secretive and make you question what the image represents and the emotion that the model shares. Either of these techniques make the audience connect with what thye are seeing making them very effective. I want to combine these features to capture colourful and unusual styles of images but making sure they still have the ability for the audience to connect and understand how the image relates to the text they are reading. Similarily I want my images to appear with a unique edgy style, something different and unexpected. By combining the effects and conventions used in these images I think I will be able to do this.Monday, 5 November 2012
ICT and hand drawn mock ups. Front Cover Initial idea. - From looking at various magazines these are ideas of how i could make my front cover. The Photoshop one at the top is the one i prefere the most but when I take my images the formality of the picture could change my mind on how I want the cover to be.Sunday, 4 November 2012

My Target Audience using Demographics
For my magazine I plan to aim it at both male and females who are interested in the urban culture of today including those with the interests of R&B, Rap and Hip-Hop music. My audience will be aged mainly around 16-29 as I aim to make it a modern music magazine full of music artists of today. In terms of demographics ~ the characteristics and statistical information used to distinguish a group of people ~ my target audience would fit into the D-E social grade group as I have given myself a wide age range target audience. These people are casual, low grade workers and working class so as my magazine is going to be modern and aimed at young readers these are the type of people who feature into these groups. In relation to this these people are not on a lot of money so my magazine price will have to be a low end price to be affordable to them, something around £2-£2.50. The Demographics measure these characteristics (age, gender, ethnicity, occupation and interests) so that businesses can take note meaning they can provide services which fit perfect with their target audiences wants and needs. These measurements are used a lot on the internet, for example through advertisement platforms. Websites that you visit online will be tracked and then when you go onto other websites your interests will be measured so that an advertisement will appear in relation to previous pages that you have looked at. As these statistics are noted and and are updated regularly on the demographic table every institution rely on the grading and just like them, I will rely on it so that I can make sure I include all the things that my target audience are interested in as well as promoting things that will be affordable to them in relation to the system. Just from looking at it now i have decided that my magazine would be published every other week (twice a month) this was due to the age of my audience as some of them will still be students and may not be earning an income to be able to afford the magazine every week. I have decided to also sell my magazine at local newsagents and superstores such as Tescos, ASDA, Morrisons as i noticed my genre of magazine is not seen in these stores. My magazine genre of Rap, R&B and Hip - Hop are seen as more american based magazines so they have to be ordered online and this could put buyers off from buying because younger audiences would have to get parental permission and not all parents may agree. As there is this gap in the market in terms of market place sales I think my magazine could benefit as it will give readers who are interested in my genre the ability to be able to go to their local supermarket and buy a magazine that provides for their interests. Demographic grading helps a lot with working out what your magazine has to compete with as well as what you can do to give yours its very own unique selling point so i will definitely be relating back to it a lot throughout the making of my magazine.
